A letter from Mom

August 25, 2005:
3 Months Old! Maren -- at every stage you become more adorable and joyful and sweet! This month you have "woken up," as I heard your Aunt Heather say once. You began sleeping through the night just a few days ago -- and we are so impressed! We are the envy of everyone we know who's ever had a baby... such a good baby! So when we walk into your room every morning, you stretch your arms, open your eyes, and give us the hugest grin! We love it! We practically jump out of bed each morning to get to you!

You have just gotten over your 2nd (!!) bout with pink eye! This time it didn't last long, but you don't like your sticky eyes. We think it keeps happening because you LOVE to have your hands all over your face -- either sticking your thumb (or more!) into your mouth. Or, our favorite: when you're hungry or tired, your hands fly up to the sides of your head into a very distressed pose. Everybody gets a big kick out of it.

You have begun to giggle, so your dad and I are always trying to make you laugh. Patty cake usually does the trick! You also love to look at yourself in the mirror of the bottom of our stairs. It's Dad's favoriate thing to do with you 1st thing in the morning because we get to see your huge and wonderful grin!

You keep growing at a fast pace! We think you weigh about 15 pounds now -- wow! You are very LONG -- always off the charts. You're already wearing some 9-12 month clothes because your torso is so long. Wow! You are healthy and happy, and we love you.
