She's on the move!

That's right, last week, Mon, Jan 16, Maren started crawling! She had been working on this for weeks and was becoming quite frustrated--she had all the right moves down and the strength there, but could not put them all together. . .And then, in one momentous moment (yes, I know--redundant) she achieved what she had long sought: forward progression.

In the week since, she has gained some confidence and speed. She's even crawled to the coffee table and pulled herself to a standing position more than once.

Besides the new motor skills, Maren has also added a couple of teeth. She has been generally in good spirits, but every once in a while the new oral soreness gets to her. A little cherry tylenol seems to soothe her just fine--restoring her to her regular, giggly self.

Mom and Dad are still adjusting to the new, exciting, and very busy lifestyle, so we've decided to designate Sunday nights as strictly quality time: family dinner, bath time with Maren, and some quiet alone time for Mom and Dad after the little one's gone to sleep. Part of the ritual will also include a weekly update here at our blog on the last week's happenings, so you're welcome to check Monday morning for the latest.
