St. Patrick's Day

Maren her enjoyed her very first St. Patrick's Day on Friday. (That's her in the red with the GREEN sunglasses.)

The day started out early, around 7:30, with a rendevous at Grandma and Grandpa Koering's new home in St. Paul. The remodeling however is still underway, so everything was a bit dusty. Sally helped sweep and straighten up for the big crew while Andy and Maren strolled over to the Liffey to meet the rest of the Clan.

We received a loud and boisterous "Norm!"-like welcome and in no time, Dad had a Guiness and Maren a bottle (of milk).

After a drink, we walked back to Irvine where things we coming together nicely. We decorated the strollers with balloons, green tinsel, and some shamrocks, then headed to the parade route to March with Clan Hoolihan.

Maren slept through the first bit of the parade, but when she woke up she was intrigued with all the sights! Bag pipes, leprechaun wannabe's, all shades of green in people clothes or in their hair!

In the evening, grandparents generously babysat the girls so that Uncle Jake and Aunt Michele (who had come in for the weekend from Chicago), and Sally and Andy could enjoy some St. Patrick's fun and music at the Dubliner

The weather was very nice, all things considered--mid-30's and very sunny. We were all relieved to able to walk down open roads at all after being socked twice earlier in the week with snowstorms that dropped about 2 feet of snow between the two of them.
