Hello world, I'm Luke! I popped my head into the world at 12:36pm on Thursday February 15th. My mom's water broke at midnight after a really yummy and romantic dinner for Valentine's Day. Little did they know I was coming early - so good thing they packed their bags just an hour or two before I decided to make known my intentions about being born.
My mom labored for quite a few hours, but couldn't get things moving in a consistent direction. Then, all of a sudden, I made my move. I guess I got tired of all that waiting around. Mom said it hurts a lot [her emphasis], but that I'm "totally worth it." She started pushing at 12:30pm, and at 12:36 they plopped me on my mommy and I was here! (That was the coolest part.) Mommy and Daddy knew right away I was a "Luke." They cried. I cried. Everybody cried! It was a really happy moment.
So, my mom asked me to request any ideas for a new blog name. We're also going to go incognito soon (cute nicknames required), but she wanted to make the official announcement first.
My big sister is napping right now, and I'm thinking about eating... again...
Mom says I gotta go. See ya!

Yay! Yay! Yay! Welcome to the world, baby Luke! We're all very extremely excited to meet you. You have two of the best parents in the WHOLE WORLD, and your big sister is no slouch either. You're one lucky kid. (Of course, they're pretty lucky, too.)
Blog names: Two by Two? Family Shenanigans? In Loco Parentis?
Can't wait to give you all squeezes!
Many, many congratulations to the whole big all of you! And welcome Luke. You take a great picture already. The eyes-closed choice you're rocking is definitely working for you at the moment.
Congratulations again, can't wait to see you all soon.
Congratulations!!! Welcome to the world Luke, you're in good hands.
Best wishes,
Matt
Congratulations! I've been waiting with bated breath since I read your last post about "going in". I LOVE the name Luke and wish you all the best as you continue your adventure in Parenthood and Family Life. It's pretty grand, isn't it?
-Connie (and, of course, the rest of the Carlsons!)
Congratulations Sally, Andy, & Maren! What a good lookin' little guy. And Andy, really, please tell me you've heard lots of "Luke, I am your father..." jokes already. Welcome to the world of Kids 2, Parents 2. It's a little scary when they start to close the gap like that - best of luck and enjoy the ride! It's wonderful.
Much love,
Katie (with Chris, Madeline, & Olivia)
