VICTORY is mine!

Victory over sleepless nights is mine! I think after three nights in a row of Mr. Luke sleeping through the night we can call the phase of sleeplessness over (for the time being). Of course, the next phase will begin in a few weeks when something throws him off again, but for now I will bask in the wonderousness that is eight hours of sleep. Ahhhhh.....

I was thinking about it, and I'm pretty sure I haven't slept more than five hours in a row since February. FEBRUARY. February. That was a long time ago.

We are lucky, I know: Maren slept through the night by 3 months. And Luke is an even better sleeper because he goes down without a fight (well, most of the time), so we never even had to let him "cry it out." About a week ago, he started getting un-interested in the 4am feeding. Well, he'd be interested for about 5 minutes, and then zonk out. And then, suddenly, one morning at about 5am I woke up a bit concerned (mostly because I was leaking all over the bed)... but, to my utter delight Luke was still breathing and STILL SLEEPING! This is the BEST FEELING EVER!

I can't understand what it's like for those parents whose kids don't sleep through the night until 5, 6, 8 months old!!!!! I would be a really grumpy, really impatient zombie if that were our situation. So, I am thanking the sleeping gods for two good sleepers.

Now, if it all falls apart tonight I can blame it on this very smug entry.
