Halloween week started with two (yes, two) days that Maren got dressed up for preschool... one day Maren was Tinkerbell (but a "pink tinkerbell", thank you very much), and although she was wearing the exact same outfit, the next day she decided she was Aurora (who, I'm learning, is one of the Disney princesses. Don't get me started on princesses, cause even though we don't watch Disney princess movies, they have somehow sunk into the consciousness of our daughter, who would rather wear pink than any other color, and wear a dress than anything else. I seriously don't know how this happened.) Regardless of what she dubbed herself each day, she looked adorable:

And little Lukey was supposed to be a Lion. But Halloween night he refused to wear the outfit. So, we settled for lion whisker face-paint!

And then there was me and Andy: Todd and Sarah Palin! Oh, we had SO MUCH FUN. Somewhere out there is a video of me talking about "whosey-whatsey" and "palling around with whatsey-facey," and "Joe six-pack/plumber/regular folksy." Did I mention how much fun I had? If Tina Fey ever decides her gig is no longer fun or lucrative enough, I'll volunteer to take over. (Me and about a bajillion others, I suppose.)
The Koering fam got together over the weekend to celebrate together - oh the cousin fun continues to be a highlight for my kiddos! Can you blame them? Costumes, games, and even a "play," starring Grandma:

And then there was election week!!!

And halleluia for the world, Obama won! I'm pumped. Andy and I took Tuesday off of work to do some canvassing and door-knocking... I mean, we had a good feeling Minnesota would go blue, but like four years ago, the only way I can feel ok with the outcome (whatever it is) is to do my part and get involved.

We had a beautiful day... the sun was shining.... And, we were randomly given our neighborhood to door-knock, so that was great! We grabbed Maren's new bike (thanks to our fabulous neighbors who so generously give us all of their outgrown gear), and the stroller, and enjoyed the political process at work.
So, congratulations to the entire world on evolving just a bit - or a whole lot - and electing a wise and steady leader who can begin the process of moving the world forward. Although I'm very sad about the constitutional bans, all in all I'm so darn proud to be an American during the time of Obama.
