blueberry update - week 17

So, the strange aches and pains associated with your body attempting to squeeze out a human being have begun. Last week I told the nurse at the midwife's office that my left boob and my right butt cheek hurt. I had butt issues with Lukey, too - some kind of sciatica thing (a nerve in your butt) that aches as your body starts... uh, well, spreading out... or whatever. It's a strange, strange thing. With Luke, it didn't hit until later in the pregnancy, so I'm assuming this is all a part of the fun of #3.

And randomly my milk is sort of coming in. (Hence the left boob hurting.) I panicked and called my mom who said without any panic or even surprise, "Well, sure." Oh. Ok. I guess it's normal for you BOOBS TO HAVE MILK IN THEM FOUR AND A HALF MONTHS BEFORE IT'S REMOTELY USEFUL, SO AS TO MERELY CAUSE YOU PANIC AND PAIN. Awesome.

In the midst of these beginning aches - which I should really shut up about cause it's not that bad except that I'm supposed to be recording what's happening so there you go - my good friend Amy was finally - FINALLY - giving birth to her brand new little girl, Breanna Charlene. The thing is, it took her 84 hours to get her out. 84 hours. 84. 84. 84! I cannot freaking believe it. This was a baby that was waited for, longed for, prayed for... and even at the very end she had to make them wait just a little bit longer. She's got gumption, this one! I already adore her.
